Young At Hearts
What is a ‘Young at Hearts’ Club ?
YAH is a gathering together of those people of a certain age (over 50’s?) who would like to meet socially to have lunch together (bring your own lunch). At the moment we are meeting every other week on Tuesdays. There will be a programme of events such as general knowledge quizzes, board games, and opportunity for topical discussions plus the occasional worship time. There will also be occasional guest speakers on some relevant topic and every few weeks there will be a trip organised – to the local countryside for afternoon tea or a canal trip or some other local attraction as decided by the group. Our first trip was to Port Sunlight and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the day and the company – we have also had trips to the Anti- Slave Trade exhibition in Liverpool and the Roman Catholic Cathedral.
Who is it for ?
It is open to anyone – male or female – church and community – old and young (at heart!).
When and where will it place ?
At the moment we are meeting in the lounge at church on the seconf and fourth Tuesdays of each month between 12 and 1.30pm.
Young at Heart Christmas Lunch
We had a lovely time at the Bamford Arms where thirteen of us enjoyed a lovely christmas meal together - thanks go to Eric & Eileen for organising it (especially as Eileen was too ill to join us!)
